I'm Daryl Winger, and I've spent 20+ years building custom software for small and medium-sized businesses, entrepreneurs, and individuals. I help you figure out what software you actually need — sometimes that's a custom build, sometimes something simpler, and I'll tell you honestly which.
My typical work includes custom web applications, connecting systems so your data flows automatically, database design, process automation, sensible AI integration, and taking over existing (often Ruby on Rails) projects that have stalled.
You work directly with me from start to finish — no account managers, no offshore handoffs. I'm honest about what you need, direct about what it costs, and still here after it ships. I appreciate long-term client relationships, but am open on-off projects as well.

Every engagement starts with a free 30-minute call to discuss your situation. From there a typical project runs through five clear stages: discovery (understanding your processes, data, and goals), solution design (agreeing scope before any code is written), iterative development with regular check-ins, thorough testing before launch, and ongoing support afterward for fixes, enhancements, and questions.
Services include: custom web applications, systems integration, database design and architecture, process automation, AI integration, taking over existing Rails projects, and technical consulting and discovery.
After our free 30-minute consult, I'll give you custom quote or propose a longer discovery engagement at an hourly rate until everything is nailed down.
