Prepare a landlord-ready packet before you start applying, especially if you are self-employed under DAFT.
3. Protect registration
Treat registration and mail reliability as practical requirements, not afterthoughts.
4. Avoid scams
Know the warning signs before you send money, sign quickly, or trust an unverified listing.
5. Work the search weekly
Use a repeatable rhythm for alerts, outreach, viewings, offers, and follow-ups.
6. Move in cleanly
Track meter readings, utilities, evidence, notices, dates, and admin in the first 72 hours.
